How to spa
Potosa Spa is located on the lower level of Hotel Julien Dubuque and includes a full-service salon along with five spa treatment rooms, one of which is a Spa Together room with side-by-side massage tables.

When You Get There
When you enter Potosa Spa, you’ll see a beautiful water wall feature accented with mosaic tiles in a soothing color palette of cream, chocolate, organic green and turquoise blue. Check in at the reception desk just inside the door.
If you choose to change, you’ll be shown to the locker room where you will be offered a robe and sandals to enjoy your visit with us. The lockers have keyed locks; however, we recommend that you leave your valuables at home or in the safe in your room.
You will then be directed to our Relaxation Lounge where you may relax in front of our fireplace in wave-style lounge chairs until your therapist greets you for your treatment.
What to Wear
Upon entering the treatment room, you will discuss with your therapist your expectations for the service. Your therapist will leave the rooms as you dress down to your desired comfort level. This could be a bathing suit, undergarments, or disrobe completely. This is left entirely up to your discretion. For your comfort and ours, our therapists practice draping techniques with blankets and sheets and only one area of the body being worked on at a time will be undraped.
Therapist Gender Preference
We do employ both male and female therapists, and you will be scheduled with either unless you let us know at time of reservation that you have a preference.
Cell Phones
For the peace and tranquility of all our guests; we ask that all electronic devices be silenced during your visit. The relaxation lounge is a cell phone free zone and we ask that you refrain from using electronic devices while in the lounge.
Gratuities
Gratuities for treatments at Potosa Spa are meant to commend therapists for exceptional service and are at the guest’s choice. All gratuities should be left with front desk staff upon departure. The standard within the spa industry is 20% of your treatment cost. However, please leave whatever you desire for your therapist.

For best availability, we recommend treatments be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. For weekend and group appointments we recommend 4 weeks in advance. For groups of 3 or more, we recommend 6-8 weeks in advance. To secure your reservation, we will ask for a credit card to hold the appointment for you. No charges will be made to your card until the day of your visit. Should you wish at that time to use a different form of payment, please feel free to do so.
Treatment Times
The allotted treatment times indicated on the menu of services include an initial consultation, the treatment itself, ending consultation and recommendation for at-home spa products to continue your spa care. Please note that, should you arrive late for your treatment, it will end as scheduled so as to not delay the next guest.
Cancellations
Should you need to change or cancel your treatment time, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled service.
Pool and Fitness Studio
Spa guests may also enjoy the sunlit pool and fitness studio adjacent to the spa.
Overnight and Day Guests
Potosa Spa is available to overnight guests of the hotel as well as day guests.
